My Testimony:

I didn’t give my life to Jesus until I was 14, but as a younger boy, I longed for something to fill the void in my heart that we all naturally have. In 5th grade, I started to fill myself with all the worldly satisfactions. It all escalated as the years passed. Friends, popularity, satisfaction, that’s all I cared about. Popularity really hit me in 8th grade. I started getting love letters. People at school were talking about me. I felt known… loved… wanted… That’s really all I ever wanted. Little did I know, 2 months into that school year, my life was going to take a turn for the worst. To put it briefly, I fell into depression. I started having suicidal thoughts. I was out of school for four months. I cried myself to sleep every night, just hoping that somebody would save me; just hoping to feel loved.

In the Spring months of 2013, I went to a Bible study. I hated it. I didn’t want to be there. But then something happened that changed the course of my life forever. I didn’t know the leader of the cell group, nor did he know me. After the prayer in the beginning, he had a word of knowledge for my life. He told me everything I was going through and he encouraged me by telling me that God is with me and that God is going to restore my life and restore my family. I wasn’t even so sure that I believed in God, but I felt that I had nowhere else to turn after that word of knowledge. That was the only message of hope that I had heard. I actually felt loved and cared for. That’s when I gave my life to Jesus.

Through the next few months (well, years), I was mentored and discipled by the one who led me to Jesus. I spent more time with him than I did with anybody else. He was the greatest example that I had. He showed me how to live as a Christian and his life was GENUINE to me. He was fully dedicated to the Lord and I honor him for that. That genuine lifestyle that he lived is what led me to be the Christian I am today. It’s in my heart to see a young generation come to know the Father. I’m out to make Jesus known!
